Parkville is post-war. Much of it was built between 1950 and 1968: brick Cape Cods off Putty Hill, the rambler blocks along Taylor and Cromwell, and the semi-detached rows either side of Harford Road.

These are the easiest systems in the area to clean and the most consistently neglected. Sheet metal trunk under a low basement ceiling, short branch runs, one furnace, and a filter slot the size of a paperback. Most were oil first and converted to gas in the seventies, which usually left the old flue liner in place and a plugged chimney base nobody has looked in since.

The dryer is the Parkville problem.
